Jesus.Faith.&.Me.

As a person who never thought I would ever want to call myself a Christian, I'm writing this blog to tell you the story of what its like to now be one..X

God is like a big question for all of us to make an answer to, and I think it scares/puts off a lot of us, so we base our knowledge on perceptions and on the things that we are told are truth and reality. Living out anything apart from that is thought to be out of the norm and naive/stupid. I know because this was my answer.
You, me, and many people will class Christians in all different categories but all that I will say is those categories are almost normally all based on perception.
'If you don't ever read the pages of a book, all you will ever see is the cover, yet its the story inside that will last forever'..
Don't base your life on perception, look and see for yourself.

So this blog is for Christians and Non-christians, theres lessons from bible scriptures, some of my own/other peoples testimonies, videos, music, just anything that I learn from or enjoy!

7 months ago I wrote 'GODS TIMING IS FAR BETTER THAN MY IMPATIENCE' in big on a page in my notebook...

No matter the year, No matter the season, no matter how big or small, no matter the surroundings... This statement will be true.

Have you ever found that following something great, makes you impatient for greatness?

Often when I get a taste of something that God is about to do in my life, I find that my impatience starts to rule over me.
...It's like that feeling when you see a trailer for a movie that you really want to see... the main characters are revealed and you get a glimpse of the storyline, the big punchlines or possible twists... You're filled with that cliff-hanger feeling and all you want to do next, is see the film!

Now think to when you get to the cinema or start the dvd... You don't fast forward the film to the end... You don't skip scenes to see what happens next... You experience watching the whole film.  The ending wouldn't be the same without the beginning or middle!

Its the same with God's plan, if we got straight to the endings to all the events in our lives, we'd end up missing the best bits!  Remember, its by following something great that you get to experience greatness!

God knows all the scenes to your film that will make it an epic movie to watch and look back on, if you don't wait for his timing you could miss out on the biggest highlights and the most important scenes.
'Gods timing is far better than your impatience'.

8 Months Later

Its been ages since I wrote a post and I've missed out on a lot!  I know its cheating to repost but I never knew that reading back on something I wrote exactly 8months ago today would have been the best advise I could give myself months later........ #Godteaches (in the most surprising ways sometimes)..

'Calm the Storm'

God has a plan on each of our lives, He has different destinations for us to get to and journeys we have to take along the way.

Have you ever found that on your way something has stopped you getting to your destination? Or delayed you and slowed you down?

..I have! And recently I have found the most common thing holding me back has unfortunately been relationships.

In the book of Jonah the prophet gets on a boat to sail accross the Mediterranean sea, he is running away from God ..unlike the sailors who all have a purpose on that boat and they have a destination they need to get to.
Along the way the sailors hit a storm, which puts them in danger and hinders their journey.  The pinpoint cause of the storm is Jonah and the only way to stop it is to throw Jonah off board and away from their boat.  The sailors tried to throw other heavy objects off first but the storm did not calm until Jonah was in the sea.

Have you ever realised that the reason you are being held back or left in a bad place is due to a certain person?  God has mercy on that person for whatever mess they drag you into but God also has mercy on YOU.  A lot of the time we know certain relationships aren't healthy but we often try to throw away other bits... We try to compromise because loosing someone can be painful and risky.

But as the sailors found out, compromising didn't help calm the storm... getting rid of other things got them no where... they had to get rid of the cause.

If you have someone is causing a storm in your journey remember that you can't stay there forever trying to compromise and throw away other things just to keep them in your boat... God has a destination for you to reach!

Sacrifices of relationships can be so difficult but trust in God... He will bless you so much more for the hard sacrifices you make.  A sacrifice should be something that isn't easy to give up.  Loosing friends and people I love along the way has been incredibly hard but I can say that God has blessed my journey so much more and now I look back and realise how much those relationships held me down and the storms they caused me to get stuck in.

Are you battling storms and realising that you are getting no where??

It's funny looking back over the story of Jonah how when the boat hit the storm, he went and slept... the sailors were doing anything they could to get out of trouble and on with their journey.  But Jonah never helped or did anything, he knew he was the cause and he knew the only way the boat would get to Tarnish is if he wasn't on it.

>>..don't get distracted by the person instead of eliminating the cause, because when someone isn't supposed to be heading to the same destination as you, they won't fight with you to get there

..(Don't take for granted the things God teaches/speaks to you, you never know when you will need to learn it all over again!)..
